Brake work is where a lot of shops make their margin, and it is where customers get sold the most parts they did not need. Our brake lathe changes that math: when a rotor has enough material left and no cracking or heat damage, we recondition it rather than replace it.
That matters around Prescott. Mingus Mountain, the Senator Highway, the White Spar grade and the drop into Camp Verde all cook brakes, so pulsation, glazing and overheated fluid are routine complaints here, not exotic ones.

We do not publish flat prices, because quoting a repair before diagnosing it is how people get surprised on the invoice. These are the factors that move the number on this type of job:

Brake replacement: pads, rotors and calipers
Brake replacement is the most commonly oversold job in the industry, which is why we measure before we recommend. If your rotors still have material and no heat damage, we will tell you and resurface them on our brake lathe instead. If they are below minimum thickness, cracked or hot-spotted, they get replaced, and we will show you why.
Parts selection matters more than most people realize. A 3/4-ton truck that tows down the Mingus grade needs different friction material than a commuter car running Highway 69, and cheap pads on a heavy vehicle fade exactly when you need them not to.
Pads and rotors
Replaced as a matched set per axle with hardware and slides serviced, so the new pads wear evenly instead of tapering.
Calipers and hydraulics
Seized pistons, sticking slides, leaking calipers and swollen flexible hoses that hold pressure and drag the brake.

Brake fluid service
Fluid absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point. On long descents that is exactly how a pedal goes soft.

- How do I know if I need pads or pads and rotors?
- Measurement. Pad thickness and rotor thickness are both specified by the manufacturer, and we compare what is on the vehicle against those numbers rather than guessing.
- Do you have to replace rotors every time?
- No. If the rotor is within specification and undamaged, we can resurface it on our lathe, which costs less than replacing it.
- Why do my brakes squeal after being replaced elsewhere?
- Usually hardware that was not serviced, missing shims, or a friction material that does not suit the vehicle. All of that is correctable.
- Can you do brakes on my diesel pickup?
- Yes, including heavy-duty and towing applications on both gas and diesel trucks.
