Water follows the path of least resistance, which is why a leak that soaks the passenger floor can be entering at the windshield cowl, the roof, or a blocked drain three feet away. Chasing the wet spot is how people end up replacing seals that were never leaking.
It matters more than a damp carpet suggests. Trapped moisture corrodes floor pans and rusts out the connectors and control modules that live under the seats and carpet on many vehicles, which turns a seal problem into an electrical problem.
What we handle
Wet carpet and floor pans
We trace the water back to its entry point rather than treating the symptom, then dry and seal properly.
Sunroof and cowl drains
Blocked drains are the single most common cause of interior water. Prescott's pine needles and dust fill them quickly.
Door seals, weatherstrip and vapour barriers
Sun-hardened weatherstrip and a torn door vapour barrier let water into the cabin every time it rains.
A/C condensate and heater cores
A blocked evaporator drain dumps condensate on the passenger floor, and a leaking heater core leaves a sweet-smelling film on the windshield. These are different problems with different fixes.
What is included
- Systematic water testing to locate the actual entry point
- Inspection of drains, seals, cowl area and vapour barriers
- Distinguishing water intrusion from A/C condensate or coolant leaks
- Repair of the entry point and verification with a retest
What is not included
- Interior detailing, carpet replacement and upholstery work
- Mould remediation beyond drying and cleaning the affected area
What affects the price
We do not publish flat prices, because quoting a repair before diagnosing it is how people get surprised on the invoice. These are the factors that move the number on this type of job:
- How long it takes to reproduce and locate the leak, which is the bulk of the work
- Whether the fix is a blocked drain or a component that must be removed and resealed
- Whether the interior needs to be pulled back to access the entry point
- Whether water has already damaged wiring or connectors that need repair
How the job runs
- 1
Describe the pattern
Which footwell, whether it happens in rain or after washing, and whether the windows fog.
- 2
Water test
We reproduce the leak under controlled conditions to see where the water actually enters.
- 3
Quote the repair
Once the source is confirmed, you get the finding and the price.
- 4
Repair and retest
The entry point is sealed and the vehicle is retested to confirm it is dry.
